applause, applause, life is our cause

Glee things. Because I can’t help myself.

I feel like I need to rewatch Glee starting with Never Been Kissed so I can trace the totally bizarre evolution of Blaine Anderson’s personality. Maybe devolution is more appropriate. I don’t know if the writers or Darren Criss should be faulted more for this, but I do feel like blame lies on both sides. He’s a gorgeous performer, but when it comes to actual interactions with humans he’s so stilted and shallow and unemotional. And this weirdness becomes even starker when it’s an interaction with Kurt, because Chris Colfer is such a fucking beautiful actor.

My thoughts on tonight, other than Blaine’s robotness and Kurt’s total perfection: Lea Michele is such a magnificent actress. Kevin McHale (and all the dancers) was sadly underused. Whoever films and edits this damn show should be shot (hahah cinematography pun, but really, the camera work is tragic). The banter after “Smooth Criminal” was so anticlimactic and stupid. And why “I Want You Back” was cut instead of “Ben” is something I will never understand.
