Bought: canned pineapple, food coloring, frozen lemonade, eight bottles of sparkling cider, an assortment of Asian inspired frozen appetizers, one hundred feet of hanging decoration, plastic champagne glasses, gold and black balloons, and gelatin. Pulled out the sluttiest thing I own my trusty pink party dress. Driving (!) to Jess’s. Armed with glitter. Happy 2011.

Hate so much: Locke, Michael, Mikhail, Charlotte. Love so much: Juliet, Ben, Desmond, Kate, Faraday. Pretty much lukewarm about everyone else.

myelephantine: There are over 6500 languages in the world, yet here I am, struggling to find the proper translation of my heart. I started a poem with a similar theme a few days ago.

happiness cont'd
I could list a hundred other happinesses but I shall leave it at this: the more I consider it the more I realize that this year really was all-time.

Call me crazy, but it feels good to set my alarm clock. Being a complete sloth has been nice but a little stifling. Looking forward to getting up at a respectable hour to socialize. (In other news, rewatched Social Network tonight and it should one hundred percent win Best Screenplay.)

some cinematic thoughts
Helena Bonham Carter was totally average in The King’s Speech. Maybe that’s only because I am so used to her playing crazy people. My dashboard is so full of Social Network spam it’s astounding. My nails are Essie Luxedo: deep deep almost-black purple. Wearing weird shades of nail polish is a slight obsession. I never understood the appeal of plain ol’ pink or a French manicure.

Things I should be doing: deciphering Faulkner, finishing essay, writing poems. Things I am doing: watching Lost, snacking. Since it’s vacation I will ignore the former list for now - laziness never felt so right.

You’re admirably practical and intelligent. You’re the kindest person ever and a beautiful photographer. You’re patient and thoughtful and adorable. You’re mature and a true gentleman. You’re level-headed and caring and best-dressed. You’re hilarious and endlessly creative.
